Partially Incapacitated And Life Is Wonderful

Somehow we have created a false belief in the form of a standard that says "we should be unhappy if we do not meet being highly capable" or "we should be unhappy if we are not as capable as someone else."

You can follow those "rules" but they'll lead you nowhere.  And you should know that those rules are merely false, destructive beliefs.  In fact, they are total nonsense.

When life is stripped of that nonsense, all that is left is our simply going for what we want in life, making mistakes and accepting that as part of the process, learning, and appreciating what we have.

We can even be partially incapacitated, physically or emotionally, yet still appreciate life.  After all, that means we are partially 'capacitated', so we have the ability of getting more of what we want (though not as much as we would have had otherwise).  Adding something good to a life already full of things to appreciate is simply a bonus to enjoy.  It is only an illusion that we must make ourselves unhappy if we don't have something we want - as there are millions of things we will never get.  (See The Unhappiness Gap.)

And it is a reality that we have "more than enough" in life - in fact we have an abundance upon abundance in this life - if we only look and note and appreciate the gift in it all.

Read Partially Incapacitated, 60% of wonderful is wonderful! and then read some of the citations in that piece.

Toward your happiness,

Keith
