Use this great tool to immediately see the principles that fit your situation.

As a free benefit, billionaire Ray Dalio offers a free app where you can access at any time the key principles relevant to situations in your life - so you won’t have to figure that out for yourself.  His book Principles - Life And Work is a seminal work - and you can master access to life principles any time you wish, via this easy app: The Principles Coach (link to it from the link below).

Pulling It All Together: Rules, Principles, Laws For Life And Success

Please contribute your own!

PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER: RULES, PRINCIPLES, LAWS FOR LIFE AND SUCCESS

I have gathered together this compendium because I think it could be extremely useful for you.  Check it out and see the probable extremely high value it will have for you:

The Intro:

“People read about what it takes to succeed in life but they seldom do a thorough enough gathering where they pull it all together and them prioritize it and implement in into their lives!
But one cannot possibly have the greatest life if one does not do this!!!!!!!!!!!

How much time should you spend on this?  Well, how much is your life worth to you?

It is worth at least...are you ready?... at least 40 hours… or whatever it takes to garner and decide and implement enough to assure a great life.   (Duh! D’ya think!)  This is no time to be a life dilettante or take shortcuts or expect to leap over necessary steps to get the results one wants in life!

This is the foundation for your whole life!!!!”

(Pass this on to others to contribute to them.)

From a member post on Farnam Street:

"After reading Meditations by Aurelius and Ray Dalio’s book Principles, I became interested in developing a set of my own life-long personal principles that will help guide my life."

The discussion then went to methods and systems on how to assure the principles and rules are followed.

Here's my two cents on this:

Yes, it is great to identify the principles (and rules as you’ve mentioned). I put mine on my site, linked from Values, Standards, And Rules Contents, Links and linked from The Principles And Laws Of Life.

However, per our old 80/20 Rule, I take these and sort and prioritize through them and track or review only the top 10-12. These are translated, most often, into habits/practices and I use the “absolutely necessary for a lifetime” My “Life+” Daily Habits Accountability Worksheet to assure implementation (aided by our good old key principle for life: accountability!

I would recommend reviewing the principles during your 90 day planning process, with it listed on the checklist for the 90 day plan.

Great topic for discussion!

A business “coach” to emulate as a person...and to learn his principles!!!!

Bill Campbell was such an extraordinary man that three business tycoons chose to write a book about him and to teach his principles for coaching, business, and teams.  Whenever the head of Google chooses to do so, this must be a person truly worth learning about AND learning the principles on how to be more effective.

“There was only one Bill Campbell, perhaps the most extraordinary individual we have had the pleasure and honor to meet and befriend.”

The book:  Trillion Dollar Coach, by eric Schmidt, et. al.
It is definitely something a business person should read, but I think coaches and even non-business people might get a lot out of it.  Scan it to see if it is something you might choose to read.

[This pairs with the incredibly great book by Ray Dalio, head of the world’s largest hedgefund.
The title:  Principles]

THE BEST TWO BOOKS FOR AN OVERVIEW OF LIFE AND SUCCESS

The big problem is that it takes alot of time to extract what is important from books.

One principle of success is to find someone else who has already done what you would like to do - such as pull out all the principles that comprise the wisdom to run one's life at the best level to create happiness (success).

I would recommend, while you are working with a coach of some sort and doing in-depth work, that you read on the side the following two books.  And then I recommend that you keep them on the one shelf you've set up to contain the reminders for life, for instant access, such as recommended in the key Reminders page.

A thick book, but a real masterpiece in terms of effective quick reference, understanding, and perspective is The Success Principles by Jack Canfield.  Read the whole thing and you'll be grounded in what works in life, along with the next book... I recommend you read this book several times, also.

Brian Johnson summarizes the best 100 life books for us as part of his key life purpose (see his site www.philosophersnotes.com, enjoy the videos on each book, for free).  From this cumulative wisdom, he wrote a masterpiece of a book, with great substance, called The Philosopher's Notes.  He covers the subjects masterfully, in one or two pages.  (Then you can read the books referenced, if you want to go into even greater depth or buy his summaries, which include MP3s to listen to.)

I recommend strongly that you buy these right away (Amazon, used, good condition).

These are the two books I recommend for anyone doing any program on my site or with anyone, to read on the side while following the program also.

Do this right away...you'll get alot out of it.

Wishing you much happiness as you master the wisdom of living a great life.

Keith

One good quick reference site for emotional/psychological health is HelpGuide.org.  Peruse it and use it for reminders.
