If one looks back upon his/her life, one will see that the biggest mistakes were made from not doing that which creates what prevents the biggest mistakes and which targets what is most beneficial in life.
What didn't happen has nothing to do with the misunderstanding that people have to do with believing that there is some personal flaw in them. Each human has basic sufficiency to learn to live and to live a great life.
It is simply that they did not learn the essentials of life early on, as soon as possible. To do better, one must learn better.
While this is a big "Duh! Of course!", few seem to pay attention to it and fill up their lives with stuff that pushes it aside. Few actually examine their beliefs and correct them, for examining and correcting those beliefs are the basis of setting up a foundation from which one can truly learn what works in life.
A super big mistake later in life is to assume that "doing that which you value" is the key to happiness. Well, that is based on a partial truth, while that is 100% true in and of itself, it leaves out one critical factor. The critical factor is "enabling one's ability to be able to derive more value from life", as it is of far more value to do that than the actual delivery of the value...
Ironically, it might seem, there is more value per amount of time spent in "learning how to live life better and deliver more value" than there is in actually delivering the value (but less effectively than one could do otherwise).
Jumping right into value activities without putting in at least 7 hours a week of learning and study on life is a huge mistake - although at first glance that would not be obvious.
But, again, look back on your life, and note the biggest mistake: not learning life so well that you could handle anything and be truly happy - and truly in charge of your life.
It would be a good idea not to repeat that same mistake that one has made all his/her life - namely, not learning life sufficiently to live it well. This is the source of most problems in life - not knowing how to prevent or not create the problems in the first place. In a sense, learning fire prevention and implementing it is much smarter and more valuable by far than spending one's life trying to fire-kill, dealing with the symptoms.
And most people have not even learned how to construct a super strong philosophical base for their lives or learned what truly makes people happy (or unhappy).
Will you repeat this error in the future or will you set about and commit to the learning that makes life work, for your own benefit, for increasing the value to the world, and particularly for the vastly greater value you will deliver to those whom you love and most care about?
What will you do? Leverage the value of your time such that you will learn what can be repeated over and over for great benefits or do the one-on-one value from just doing what is of value? The leverage is THE SECRET to living a greater life AND delivering more value in life, to yourself and to others!
(To reinforce this and to decide a path to choose, start with the piece on the site called "The Only Path To The Greatest Life", via the search engine. If you can come up with a better path, please let me know what it is, so I can address it!)
Toward your greatest happiness,
Toward your greatest happiness,
