HUMAN BEINGS
Human beings put on one pant leg at a time...an old saying to view great idols as mere limited human beings.
However, though we have to do the little steps required of human beings (or any being), we are uniquely able to learn, think, and create at the higher levels. And, no, there are no miraculous, instant elevating of humans to super levels.
But we are (all of us with normal brains) able to be virtually limitless. We are not actually limitless, of course, but what is true is that we are still far from our actual limits, of our highest human (not magical) potential.
NOWHERE TO GO...
If we do not set a clear intention of where we want to go, we are not likely to get "there". (Duh!)
If we take a path to a clear destination, we must first find or create a path to follow ... or we'll not likely get there (or at least we'll take a heck of alot more effort and suffer from far more mistakes than if we had a designed, thought out path). (Duh!)
If those are so obvious, why do we not do this with everything that is important?
NOT A QUESTION OF CAPABILITY, BUT ONLY OF CHOICE
Surely we have the thinking, devising (or finding/copying) ability to establish a great path. But if we leave it all up to our monkey minds, we are very likely to just "monkey around" with our lives and get nowhere. (Duh!)
The only way to ever realistically hope to achieve our greatest life is to set aside time where we use our higher brain to assure that we have the path clearly established (and then keep trying to follow the path and return to it when we get off the path - that process is called discipline, wherein there is much "returning to the path" - the followers of "the way" or "the path" of a discipline (pathway) are, after all, called "disciples").
While you can struggle with discipline, you probably will arrive at your destination (or close to it). But if you don't have a path that you follow, your life is screwed (so to speak) - you will, so to speak, have f'ed it up, blew it, wasted your life in meaningless meandering.
No magic solutions (or miracles) will be able to rescue you. If you're missing the steps to take, you will not take the necessary steps and you will not arrive at your destination (even God would agree with that, since he set up all the realities of the universe, so to speak). (Duh!) (Read And Then A Miracle Happens...Wanna Bet?)
WILL YOU MAKE "THE CHOICE"?
The point of this (rather obvious) rant is not to just have you see the rationale, but to actually have you do the actions that will assure that you establish the paths (or path) you need to get you to where you want to go (though the step before that is to establish what that destination is).
Right now, before you shut this down and let it get lost in the ether,
1. Pick a destination (or list all or most of your major destinations, defined in clear terms). (Perhaps this will give you a boost or reminders that will help stimulate your thought: Life Mastery - From Self Assessment To Commitment And The Choice Of A Path.)
2. Pick or devise a path for each (or tickle it up so that it is assured that you will stay on the task of finishing the selection of paths, before anything else in your life that isn't mandatory for the now).
Start with The Paths - The Steps To Take To Where You Want To Go In Life - at least start off with picking one of the shorter paths or programs. There are a few "programs" that will literally elevate your life for the rest of your life.
3. Set up the time schedule such that you can do what is necessary to assure that you progress well on the path of life! (See Allocating Your Time...)
If you heed this advice, your life will be actually and realistically, one step at a time, "transformed" to a whole new high level of existing and fully living life.
