KNOWING "ABOUT" VS. "SUFFICIENT KNOWING" TO GET THE RESULTS
We humans make the mistake of thinking we know something when we only “know about” something. We know a few things related to something but it turns out that we do not know enough to effectively apply our knowledge to get the results we want.
Well, there is no point in learning “something” if we do not derive value (results) from it. (Make sense?).
The point of learning is mastery - mastering the data enough to be able to use it to cause the desired result. A master is one who can get the result he/she desires, NOT a person who knows a lot and can talk a lot about something but is not getting the results he/she wants in a particular area... or in life...
One’s learning in an area is not sufficient until one is able to access sufficient data to do all of the steps necessary in a sequence to get the desired result. (Read Sufficient Knowing.)
Note, however, that one need not learn how to construct a watch if all that is desired is to be able to tell what time it is. It is often sufficient to just find and copy what someone else has created (and works) and then to store it away in a referenceable, retrievable place. True, it might not be stored in one’s head, but that doesn’t matter as long as it can be accessed and used to get the desired result.
It is perhaps time that you go deeper in your learning, from the 101 level of familiarity and some ability to use, to the 201 level and then onward and upward until you have the reliable ability to get the desired results that you want in life (and avoid the undesired results!)!!!!!!!
WHAT TO DO
Consider using this book to understand psychology at a higher level than familiarity:
And, of course, you might revisit The Site to actually follow a learning sequence that is more thorough than just bouncing around between links as the interest and happenstance determine. Find a “program”, a checklist, a contents/links page for a topic (most often includes a reading sequence to start off the contents). (You would enter the topic into the site's search engine and then also add “program” or “checklist” or “contents” or whatever type of thing you are looking for.)
And, when necessary, use a coach, mentor, or some type of skilled helper to help you create what is needed.
BE AN "OWNER" AND NOT LESS
But if you do this, I ask that you "own" it (go to completion to get the results, just as an owner of a business would do if he wants results).
Complete it, finish it..so you don't have to come back and revisit or restart the work. And then you'd put it into your Life Operations Manual for easy reference (or some system where you can find the procedure that is needed in any particular thing). (Just set up a three ring binder, or the digital equivalent, and stick each procedure/checklist/system behind a labeled tab - see Easy Referencing System - but this time completely learn and implement it into your life - and don't stop before completing this!)
The "owner" of life (vs. the victim of it) never leaves problems uncorrected or unsolved.
The "not-yet-full-owner" leaves the problems and causes in place, and gets to re-experience and have the same problems over and over and over and over...
DECIDE THE LEVEL YOU'D LIKE TO EXPERIENCE LIFE AT
The true Life Champion gets feedback to know what is wrong, immediately finds out what is needed, corrects it and uses it to get results. The mediocre life participants do a little here and there and at a slower pace but never go to the lengths that a true champion (in anything) would go. Some go to the next level and a few go further but still stop short, so they do not fully harvest all of life's potentialities.
One interesting effect of handling and completely correcting problems as you go is that life gets easier and easier and easier and more and more and more rewarding and satisfying!
The most significant decision you can make is to decide to be no less than a Life Champion.
SO, NOW...
Will you make the absolute commitment to not stop short of gaining sufficient knowledge to be able to get the desired result you want at the time? ___ Yes; ___ No; ___Maybe; __ I like living Groundhog Day over and over and over and over.
