Many people have habits and “ways of being” that are highly negative - and they, of course, believe that that is the way to operate. It is a “learned behavior”, but one that is highly, highly falsely (erroneously) learned. It can be one of the most destructive things on the planet - more dangerous to one’s happiness than just about anything that could happen.
If you glance at this blog, you might have noticed the theme for the last week or so, about how we need to change practices and even the way we talk if we are to be happy. Without those changes, one cannot be happy, even if one has a few really great happiness practices.
Look through the blog posts of the last few weeks. If one enters into the site search engine the word “positive”, one gets these as the top 4:
The Positives Portfolio - This is a “portfolio” you intentionally create that will offset, or replace, your passively created negatives portfolio that some people keep refurbishing. “It provides a base for underlying happiness that is abiding.”
The Positivity Ratio - “Your happiness is guaranteed if you do just this one thing - maintain the ratio of at least a 5 + positive to 1 negative...” I assure you that, no matter what, this is very doable!
THE POSITIVE THINKING READING/LEARNING LIST - “One of ...the classics to develop a new, positive conversation”.
Positive Progress In This World - While this is not personal, it is worthwhile to realize that the world is actually getting significantly better, as opposed to what the news, etc., might lead one to believe....
I would purport that it is vital that each individual become a master/expert at what produces positive reactions and what produces negative reactions in the human mind, so that one can assure that life is predominantly positive - one cannot afford to do otherwise! There is too much at stake:: one’s happiness. (And if one loses one’s happiness, one loses the essence of what life is for. See The Meaning And Purpose Of Life.)
(Note: Since many of the posts on this blog have links that provide the opportunity to go deeper, I would recommend that you “tickle” going deeper on a post of interest for a time when you have the time to actually go through it later. Consider it like reading a book, where you complete all the reading to the point where you understand it and implement it into your life.)
