A very workable, beneficial tool: using timers...
USING TIMERS FOR PRODUCTIVITY
“One of the best and fastest ways to immediately improve your levels of productivity comes in the form of a timer. A timer is an incredibly effective tool because it helps create a sense of urgency. When we work with no deadline, we are more at ease and kind of relax our way into our work routine. However, when there is an imminent deadline on the horizon, that is when we muster up the extra energy we need to get stuff done in record time. With that in mind, schedule all your tasks into specific time slots, then set a timer for completing each task. This will provide you with that extra urgency you need to get stuff done.”

I use it for timing my 90 minute segments, building in a rejuvenation break that keeps me functioning at a much higher level! (Plus for the use right below...)
USING TIMERS FOR “BREAKS” AND “PEACE OF MIND”
We all tend to want to hurry on to the next thing, so we don’t do the required adjustments to go back to a well-functioning brain and body and psyche.
But with timers, the psychology is “well, it’s only two minutes and then I’ll be right back to work, but I’ll feel better."
Even though it would seem a "minute long meditation" (or relaxation or breathing) wouldn't make much difference, it does, as it adjusts us more back into the homeostatic, well functioning Power Zone - which is the VERY BEST PLACE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE!
Taking "time outs" is one of the very best things you can do in life, from one minute to whole days.

(I use simple kitchen timers, at every place I sit - so I'll be encouraged to use it more. Here's some: Kitchen Timers.)
This is included in my (99 cent) book Life Value Productivity, including many practical, doable things you must do in life to have a great life!
