As you rise up the scale of awareness and are less and less the victim of your emotions and chimp brain thinking, you begin to see what your “job” in life really is.
Of course, your life job’s purpose must be to achieve your life’s goals and overall purpose.
But the question in a job is always “how to achieve that goal/purpose”.
We can plan, as we should, of course - and do it well.
But still one of our greatest must-have strengths will be in paying attention to the feedback loop in life (and in all of its subparts).
You’d, of course, address:
What went well - write that down and capitalize on it for the future.
What went wrong - write that down and figure out a way to make it work (if it’s worth the time and effort).
This might take form in an Opportunities And Problems Notebook, where there is a page for each AND where you fix and/or capitalize on the opportunity/problem.
If you’re experiencing problems and not solving them (and allowing yourself to repeatedly reexperience the emotional pain), how dumb is that????
Your ‘life executive job”, or you’ll be “fired”, is to fix all the problems completely and implement the solutions AND to note all the opportunities that there are and decide/devise how to take advantage of them.
You can play small by being a problem-focused person or you can choose to play big by being a solution focused person (and being an expert at it!). When you switch to the latter, your value produced in the world goes way up AND your life soars! See the article on this.

As in a situation with someone I’m working with:
Let’s say you’re stuck in a job situation you do not like (or hate). And you, naturally, experience a negative conversation in your head, one that has you experiencing strong negative emotions/fears.
Sure, we can fix the way we think, insert some better conversations, replace bad beliefs. That’s good.
But when we do higher level thinking from 100,000 feet up, we have a new perspective. And, of course, we have a new opportunity to build a ladder that goes all the way up to our dreams and aspirations.
What this person might do, then, is set up a separate notebook called something like “creating the job that serves me well”. Sure, this is complicated and may take some time to put the pieces together (ain’t that life?).
We’d analyze and accept the barriers and then figure out what to do to get around them.
Problem: The job market/economy is terrible and other qualified people are unemployed and so far I’m thinking it is almost impossible to overcome that. But am I thinking hard enough about how to do this? How can I become uniquely noticed and provide unique value? How can I set it up such that the work and contacts I do gives me a reputation such that others want to tell others about it, such that people and companies come and ask me to work with them? What do I need to do? How can I make it work? Etc.
You get the idea?
We’d also figure out ways to make our current job work better and to be more effective at it (that would merit a separate notebook: “Creating greater on the job results”).
You create true value in life when you are freed up sufficiently from worry and small thinking and decide to go to the 100,000 feet level, with perspective, and then set it up so that no problem goes unsolved. At the time anything happens, you write it down AND then, absolutely, you fix it, asap, to completion (results) - there are not “open loops” left around, no incompletes, bugging you and dragging your life downward.
Then, you can say that you are a true life manager and have done that job of the highest importance in your life.
I wish you the best in stepping up and fully taking on this job of truly, finally, creating the life that is possible!!!!!

I meet so many people, many quite accomplished, that are doing life the hard way, still stuck with life-long problems. They are stuck with childhood beliefs of "I'm not good enough" or "there's something wrong with me". Those are first priority to solve asap, no matter what you have to do. For sure, it will be a process far more reaching than doing "affirmations", without a solid basis.
