What We CAN do...the power of this man...

Although I’ve seen Vishen Lakhiani in action on stage and marveled at what he has done with Mindvalley, I was privileged to see him truly in action the other night.

We were sitting down at the social night outside at the venue in Pula, Croatia, when Vishen joined as.  Then Gina Murray rejoined us, followed by a visit from Kaitlin and Cassidy, the two women (18 and 20) who had decided to do work in the refugee camps instead of going to college.

When Vishen fully realized who they were, and that they were doing a presentation to Mindvalley University on July 4th, he immediately “sparked” into action, quickly interviewing them, recording it on his iphone.  After which he instructed his assistant (who wasn’t present) as to what to do with the video.

Then he was inspired to suggest that the presentation should be shifted around a bit so that the initial part of the presentation would be cut down to 18 minutes (of the 45 minute presentation they had prepared for), as that is the maximum that could allow it to go viral, to have much, much more impact.

In a fairly low voice volume, he called over an individual about 30 feet away (in this noisy party atmosphere), who then came over to help on some matters connected with the presentation.  Then another person was summoned over, for I forget what, after which he called out to another person at the party who had taken the Eric Edmeades Speaker Academy and then recorded a piece that went viral with over 5 million views - Vishen asked him to assist the Kaitlin and Cassidy in cutting the talk down to 18 minutes, to go viral.

As I recall, Vishen asked something like “OK?”, and he replied, of course, I’d do anything for you, Vishen…. hmmm.   Pretty remarkable!

Then he tied it into an existing charity to work with and then...he tied it to a person who didn’t want a royalty for what he was contributing, but which might be accepted if it were turned over to “this cause”.

A few other things were instigated by Vishen, who then summarized the six major things to be done.  He had instigated all of this and wrapped it all up, with people committed to follow up, all in 20 minutes.

Most people would have spent six months to make this happen, but he took only 20 minutes.  And then I saw the full power of this man (and the power we are all capable of if we choose to step up like he has in this world).

What I wrote originally on this:  Vishen Lakhiani - A Model And A Teacher.
