THE RECIPE
Here is the recipe for being successful in life.
1. Must start day in a very positive mode, only...with clear intentions and a clearly allocated day!!!!
2. Start the focus, high productivity time as early as possible, letting in nothing but a legitimate emergency.
3. Focus on the three most important tasks for the day and assure they are done, first thing in the morning, with no deviations - none!
LET IN ONLY THIS
Other than that during this time you will let in only the necessary high value maintenance activities sufficient sleep, exercise, breaks, keeping energy up, eating, relaxing the mind....
FOCUS ON THIS!!!!
While it is a true must to produce what is needed for one's physical sustenance and emotional well-being, the most important activities almost always are those things that will create progress toward Mastery - the mastery of effectiveness toward what is most important - as that is what leads one to be able to be incredibly life productive instead of just trudging along in low mastery. If one does not put aside the time necessary to develop mastery, one will not fully progress forward in life.
FOLLOW THIS RULE!
One rule is to limit obligations in the first place.
Besides that, sure, it may seem imperative to do a "I must do this or I’ll look bad and lose credibility" activity and also to keep a promise. So those will take some of the time, but the key is always to work down the list in the order of declining impact - and to not deviate into other to dos.
AND, YES, SOME THINGS WILL NOT GET DONE - SO BE IT!
Yes, some things will not get done, but if it isn't life threatening or of significant consequence, it is better to do the most important things even if one must give up something else.
Some people are caught in the "delusion" of "loss". They frantically run around trying to get everything done because they don't want to look bad or to lose anything of value.
But the reality of life is that each thing any human does is always excluding something else that person could do.
People who are out of touch with that reality will live in a metaphysical world in their heads that is oblivious to actual value in life - and those people will live ineffectually throughout their lives.
THE "PROOF" LIES IN THE NUMBERS
The "proof" lies in the numbers. Without doing a super elaborate scheme, here is what it looks like to live the two different lives that are available in the following scenario.
Remember, the truth is that we must give up some of what has value but is less important - and for sure give up those activities that are clearly valueless. But if we give up some things of value, I say that there is no loss…
Case 1. If I do 3 things of a value totaling to 1000 and 2 things of a value totaling 5 units of value, I get a total value for the day of 1005 units.
Case 2. If I do, instead, 15 things totaling 100 units of value for the day, I get a total value for the day of 100 units.
In Case 1 I gave up 13 things "of value" because I only had time for 2 things on the list of those things with "some value". From one viewpoint, I ‘lost” 95 units of value I would have derived from those other 13.
But in Case 1, I gained 1005 units, so I am ahead of Case 2 by 905 units. To view it from the loss point of view, I would have "lost" 905 units in Case 2, if you really think of it. But many people seem to "not think" and they see only the loss of the value of the extra items that could have or "should have" been done.
SO, NOW, WHAT ABOUT YOUR LIFE?
(You are likely to have said to yourself "I already know that". But, do you, in reality?)
Which do you choose in this scenario?
Which do you actually choose in your regular, actual day in your life?
If one's life is not successful and full of value, then he/she is obviously choosing "the easy way" or the "unthinking way" in Case 2. Only when the person shifts to doing what it takes to live in Case 2, will he/she be successful - and vastly, vastly more successful, as the extra units of value compound and accumulate in life!!!!
Again, which do you choose?
Will you choose it for the rest of your life?
