Is addressing your beliefs scary?

(To see the entire post, click on the title of the post.)

Is it scary to examine beliefs that cause fear?

Well, yes and/or no.

The belief that thinking something can actually in itself, not related to behavior, is harmful is a totally false belief, akin to voodoo thinking - though it does ring of reasonableness.

This is one of the beliefs that you MUST change in your life or you will still stay in the state of victimhood about thoughts being real.  Remember, that all major disciplines teach you that thoughts are "just passing clouds in the brain", with no truth necessarily attached to them, as they are simply the "brain farts" of our primitive mind trying its best to bring up "associated" data.  (See "Is The Unexamined Life Worth Living?")

So, it is not necessarily scary to examine scary beliefs.

But if you have a belief that beliefs are scary, then that is the belief that is causing the fear.

Ironic.

If you are "afraid" of looking, I would suggest that it is best, if you can't get yourself to do it otherwise, to seek an expert to help make it easier.

Doing the examination and correction of your beliefs is worth your very life, for they are what determine your experience of life itself!!!!!
