How to react to a world that doesn't do what we want...

(In email, click on the post title in order to read the entire post.)

Reality: There’s you AND there’s the world (including the people in it).  The world moves for its own purposes and may run into us (as in a bus running us over).

Response: All we can do is accept that as reality, and then choose how to respond in the most useful way for oneself.

Those who rail against the world not acting as it “should” for our benefit are wasting time in a fruitless (and bad feeling) effort.

Those who are effective in life merely accept what is so and then choose the response that will produce the best benefit for oneself.

No, things will not always be as you wish them to be, BUT you can control and effect so much in life that you can still create a wonderful life, with a few bumps and bruises which end up being nothing that really matters....

(I like the metaphor of the world being like the contestant in a fight for what people want and each one of us can choose to “respond” as a Karate Master would.  Or, per Tony Robbins, we could just choose. to surf the waves in life, instead of letting them crash on us and complaining. about it!)
