Breaking momentum causes one's productivity to drop significantly AND it makes life harder instead of easier!
Momentum, as you know, is simply an object with a velocity (speed) that is a forward "force" that will continue without additional effort until interfered with in some way. Don't violate the law(!): Superprinciple: The Law Of Inertia And Momentum (The Ultimate Motivation)
Heed the following advice and you'll reap remarkable rewards and ease for very little (actually much less) effort. (More benefits but with less energy equals an infinite return, as there is no cost and even lessened cost for the value received!!!)
#1. DON'T STOP (INTERRUPT) THE MOMENTUM!
If you do interrupt the momentum, it will cost you! You'll have to put energy back into restarting it, plus take the time to get reoriented and into an action mode. [Note that it takes 11 to 23 minutes, per studies, to fully shift one's attention to productively reorient and concentrate on a task. Doing "multitasking", which is simply switching back and forth between giving attention to different task, is one of the least productive techniques one can do, plus it destroys the mental process of "order". See The Huge Costs Of Multitasking - A Fool's Errand! And please do not confuse multitasking with "parallel tasking" - read about that in the article linked above.]
Keep Your Door Open? Are You Kidding?!!!!
Like one fellow who "keeps his door open" while working, with the intent that his spouse will know he is available for her.
That has two problems.
One is that it is not any better for the relationship than keeping the bathroom door open while on the toilet - there is no quality time for the relationship at that time (it's kind of a nonsensical "multitasking").
Instead, set aside a few extra minutes that are committed to relating in depth with one's spouse and it'll relieve lots of wasted time on meaningless non-interaction time.
Instead, he should follow the cardinal rule of having PROTECTED, "NONVIOLATABLE"
productivity time blocks (which free up huge amounts of time for relating and for life).
He could explain (and reassure) to his wife that "keeping the door shut" will free up lots of time ultimately plus produce benefits that will benefit "both of us" - "and you'll know I am available when the door is open and that 'you will not be interrupting what I am doing'".
Oh, and she should do the same.
Note What Life-Successful People Do As Opposed To Those Who Don't Do So Well!
Those who are successful in any endeavor and ultimately in life keep on going until they have accomplished the result. (They heed The Law Of Completion Power .) If they do it the easiest way, they do it by protecting their high value productivity time - and they are happier by far than those who accomplish a lot through sheer effort, enduring unnecessary emotional pain.
Especially, Don't Flush High Productivity Time Down The Drain!
It is sad to see an intelligent person fail to use his high alertness, high energy, high productivity ability time on crap that has little value - for the potential value benefit is lost forever and life becomes far less than it can be.
Never, never, never ever allow the morning time to lose momentum (or be interrupted). Don't do the email (beyond checking quickly for any urgent items - take no more than one minute or you're fooling yourself). Wake up, stretch, energize slowly and smoothly, eat, exercise, engage only in productivity time blocks for the rest of the morning! If you don't violate that structure, you will be massively more value-productive in life!!!!
Ramp It Up A Bit More By Doing This Enhancer
Put together several time blocks (to total maybe a half day or more), dedicate a whole "theme" day to it, and/or use complete "immersion" for several days to complete and/or go deeper in learning. (See The Best Ways To Learn.) Complete immersion has the effect of speeding progress up hugely. Try setting up some immersion periods and see for yourself! (That practice is also great for "problem busting!")
#2. KEEP THE BODY (ENERGY) GOING!
Although it would seem obvious that one cannot be very productive without having good energy, most people let the lethargy of the body slow them down (or use stimulants that cause massive declines in energy overall, plus productivity killing ups and downs)
As you know, you should take a break at the end of each productivity time block, whether working or studying or doing anything where you want to be productive.
During that time you will be either resting/renewing or energizing (ramping up your energy level). This is like upping your momentum again, as it will make the next time block much more productive due to you increased operating power!
DO THESE TWO FOR QUICK AND MASSIVE RESULTS!
Each little bit of time you spend learning and implementing the two above pieces of life will yield substantial benefits not only for today and this week but for a lifetime! And it will make life easier, now and forever!
I guarantee that this is a sure way of improving life.
And I wish you great benefits for life!

COUPLE THIS WITH...
Couple this with the thinking and strategies in my virtually costless ($0.99) Kindle book, which can be read on any computer by downloading the simple software for free. Click on this link: My Life Value Productivity System, An Easier, Far More Happy Way To Live.
Read for sure the article on The Site on "Life Value Productivity" - Producing The Maximum Life In Your Life.
Spend lots of time really nailing this down, as it will save you massive amounts of time relatively quickly with huge benefits over your lifetime! And if you follow the system and "rules", you will have a massively more effective life, producing lots of "Life Value".
PLEASE ALSO HEED THIS LEARNING AND COMPLETION RULE
You'll notice, most likely, that each posting has too much to read if a person seeks to be "complete" and to sufficiently to nail down what is needed to get a result.
Therefore, you might treat this as it is meant to be: as a mini-lesson to complete.
To assure that you will followup, you must follow the vital practice of putting this on your to do list (preferably tickled) so that you work on it for several days - or, better yet, just put aside a time block or several time blocks in a row so that you can really absorb, understand, and implement this.
And realize that you haven't done much (and even might just be leaving the value on the table) if you don't end up deciding what you will do AND implementing it in your live, not leaving it to go do something else that is a shiny object.
