YOU MUST BUILD AN ENERGIZING SYSTEM INTO YOUR DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A concept is worth nothing if one doesn't assure that the results are harvested from it!

Here's a way to harvest the idea that we should run our energy system much better in life.

Everyone should, at least, assure that they do this energizing practice AND that there is a system built into the day to remind them to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Failing to do this would not be smart!!!!

Try this:  Building Energy Into Your Day

Regulate Your Mind And Rewire Your Brain, Effectively

An interesting podcast with a scientist on doing what works to Regulate Your Mind And Rewire Your Brain.  I've done a "transcript" with some comments and links that could be useful.

There are some strategies/tactics that you can use to effectively and simply regulate your neurochemicals for the better and to take advantage of our brain's neuroplasticity ability.

There is value here, so click the link to the piece.

Do this right now, simple, quickly, to save lots of time

Unless you are already transformed... set automatic limits that stop you from getting too hooked on social media and/or email.

Just do it, right now.  It’ll take less than 5 minutes!

I just did:
__ Mail limit: 30 minutes
__ Social media (all at once): 30 minutes
__ Games (I don’t do these anymore, but if you do, this will save you from addiction...)

Use whichever works on your device:

FocusMe - All but iPad, iPhone (for now.

For iPad, iPhone:  Screen time (under settings, just enter screen time in your search bar for apps)
_______________

You will end up, if you’re like most people, saving significant amounts of time from the human wasteland of no value (when you could do something of real value instead!).  See the chart of how much time users saved on the FocusMe page.
______________

Added simple app for people who really want to be productive:  Be Focused Pro.  It will tell you when to take a break, schedule your work intervals for you, and track the number of actual work intervals you accomplished during the week.  (I use a work interval of 60 minutes and 5 minute breaks, but a big break for a nap in the afternoon to up productivity tremendously.)

_____________

Virtually all of my posts are directed at having you be able to actually follow a path to actually get a tangible result in your life.   Sign up for the email list (going to the web version if on a small device) in the upper right hand of the page.

This is how to make progress every day.....

From one of the greatest writers about human behavior and psychology, Daniel Pink, is someone who is good to follow.  He has a little minute or so “Pinkcast” which is good.  Here’s a sample one, with a great topic to make sure you include in your permanent practices!

From a member post on Farnam Street:

"After reading Meditations by Aurelius and Ray Dalio’s book Principles, I became interested in developing a set of my own life-long personal principles that will help guide my life."

The discussion then went to methods and systems on how to assure the principles and rules are followed.

Here's my two cents on this:

Yes, it is great to identify the principles (and rules as you’ve mentioned). I put mine on my site, linked from Values, Standards, And Rules Contents, Links and linked from The Principles And Laws Of Life.

However, per our old 80/20 Rule, I take these and sort and prioritize through them and track or review only the top 10-12. These are translated, most often, into habits/practices and I use the “absolutely necessary for a lifetime” My “Life+” Daily Habits Accountability Worksheet to assure implementation (aided by our good old key principle for life: accountability!

I would recommend reviewing the principles during your 90 day planning process, with it listed on the checklist for the 90 day plan.

Great topic for discussion!

The "One Thing" Technique: To Speed Up Your Progress In LIfe - Hugely!

When one has a major objective (especially when there is urgency or a strong need to achieve it because of its importance) one would best employ the “One Thing” Technique.  [In email, click on the title of this post to see it all.] In this mode we focus every day (or as often as feasible), during a set period of time, to the exclusion of other “interests” or needs, on One Thing, until it is completed

This usually means that there are to be 2-3 hours set aside each day during which you will work on nothing but that objective.  (It could be one hour at the beginning of the day and one later if that is what is needed due to other conflicting schedules.)

Whatever you do in life, please make sure you put this into action in your life!

DO NOT LEAVE THIS ARTICLE WITHOUT IMPLEMENTING IT!!!!

APPLYING IT

So...this means that I have to put my money/efforts where my mouth is.  I need to work on my book starting the first two hours of my productivity day.  After that, I will simply be starting a regular productivity day.

Let’s say you’re in an awful job and you want a good job with good pay.  What would you do?

Well, you would certainly not just sit around disheartened, resigned to a not so good future…

You’d devote at least the first hour of productivity time every day to researching and figuring out what to do to make that happen AND to getting the results.  Of course, as with everything you’d draw up a plan to be modified as you go as to what to do, so that you are not wandering around randomly.

(If you want the format for what a learning plan would look like, please contact me.)

Albert Einstein On Sifting The Essential From The NonEssentila

A very, very key skill is sifting out for what is important, essential, and most relevant (affecting us the most).  When you do that, and then apply ordinary effort, you develop a greater power for getting greater results.

Albert Einstein On Sifting The Essential From The NonEssential

I talk about this as a key principle in my book Life Value Productivity (link to it from Books, Booklets) .  When you eliminate the largely irrelevant things from your life you make room for more of what is highly relevant to you...and you life uplevels enormously.

Will you accept the challenge to live only in what is most highly relevant (valuable) to you?

Eliminate one thing in your life....!!!!!

Try actually eliminating something from your life, to improve it!  It’s an instant upgrader of life, taking no time and saving vast amounts of time!  (Don’t do it later.  Write it down and do it, now!)

My Favorite Journal Prompt This Week:

What is one thing I know I could remove from my life that would improve the quality of my life? How can I, with compassion for the addicted animal part of me, begin to remove this thing from my life? If I were giving advice to my best friend about how to begin to remove this thing, what advice would I give? Can I follow this advice?”

If you are a person of excellence...

“If you are a person of excellence, you will drive and utilize the content of this article to actual results, not stopping short, not just reading this article and saying it was good for thought and not then letting the exercise be useless (or just a form of mental masturbation and “hope” for a better future) - but that better future won’t happen if you don’t do the steps to harvest what you read, organize the information further into a structure that will work to get the results you want.  You might even work up a form (or find one) that will lead you through the process.”

Read further:  Excellence In Life.  And then do it - it’ll dramatically increase all you do, in terms of actual results!

A very workable, beneficial tool: using timers...

USING TIMERS FOR PRODUCTIVITY

“One of the best and fastest ways to immediately improve your levels of productivity comes in the form of a timer. A timer is an incredibly effective tool because it helps create a sense of urgency. When we work with no deadline, we are more at ease and kind of relax our way into our work routine. However, when there is an imminent deadline on the horizon, that is when we muster up the extra energy we need to get stuff done in record time. With that in mind, schedule all your tasks into specific time slots, then set a timer for completing each task. This will provide you with that extra urgency you need to get stuff done.”
                                                                        IQ Matrix

(I recommend that you subscribe to their emails.)

I use it for timing my 90 minute segments, building in a rejuvenation break that keeps me functioning at a much higher level!  (Plus for the use right below...)

USING TIMERS FOR “BREAKS” AND “PEACE OF MIND”

We all tend to want to hurry on to the next thing, so we don’t do the required adjustments to go back to a well-functioning brain and body and psyche.

But with timers, the psychology is “well, it’s only two minutes and then I’ll be right back to work, but I’ll feel better."

Even though it would seem a "minute long meditation" (or relaxation or breathing) wouldn't make much difference, it does, as it adjusts us more back into the homeostatic, well functioning Power Zone - which is the VERY BEST PLACE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE!

Taking "time outs" is one of the very best things you can do in life, from one minute to whole days.
Read The Time Out Tool - As A Tool For Rebalancing, Reconstituting.

(I use simple kitchen timers, at every place I sit - so I'll be encouraged to use it more.  Here's some: Kitchen Timers.)

This is included in my (99 cent) book Life Value Productivity, including many practical, doable things you must do in life to have a great life!
